The University of Minnesota Good Neighbor Fund is a resource for neighborhood communities that are adjacent to the Twin Cities Campus.  Its purpose is to enhance and protect the beauty, serenity, and security of the communities impacted by the operation of the University of Minnesota's on campus football stadium.  For the complete background on the Fund, click on the General Information link in the left navigation column.

2014 Good Neighbor Fund/Vikings Partnership Fund Public Information Meetings and Grant Documents

The UMN Good Neighbor Fund will be enhanced in 2014 with a contribution from the MN Vikings (the "Vikings Good Neighbor Partnership Fund").  To make the most of this new opportunity for 2014, the Request for Applications will be published earlier than in past years and will have an earlier grant application deadline.  Good Neighbor Fund/Vikings Partnership Fund applications for 2014 will be due on January 31, 2014.

With the new grant possibilities coming up in 2014, the Good Neighbor Fund Management Committee invites you to attend a community information meeting about the Good Neighbor Fund/Vikings Partnership Fund:

Wednesday, October 30 from 5-6:30 at Van Cleve Park Community Center, Multi-Purpose Room, 901-15th Ave.SE Minneapolis

OR

Wednesday, November 13 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the Laukka Room, suite 200 McNamara Alumni Center, 200 Oak St. SE, Minneapolis

There will be a brief presentation about applying for grants in 2014, with members of the Fund Management Committee, including representatives of the MN Vikings; to be followed by questions, answers, discussion.  The same information will be presented at both meetings.

If you are considering submitting a proposal for 2014 funding, you are strongly encouraged to attend one of the information meetings.  If you are unable to attend, but would like to be on an email list to receive further updates about the grant cycle in 2014, please reply to this message.

Eligible applicants are member organizations of the Stadium Area Advisory Group.

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants must be member organizations of the University of Minnesota Stadium Area Advisory Group, and must be duly organized and incorporated and have systems in place to ensure financial accountability.  Member organizations of the Stadium Area Advisory Group are:

  • the Marcy-Holmes Neighborhood Association,
  • the Prospect Park East River Road Improvement Association,
  • the Saint Anthony Park Community Council,
  • the South East Como Improvement Association,
  • the University District Improvement Association,
  • the West Bank Community Coalition,
  • the Cedar Riverside Business Association,
  • the Dinkytown Business Association,
  • the South East Business Association,
  • the Stadium Village Commercial Association,
  • the City of Falcon Heights,
  • the City of Minneapolis,
  • the City of Saint Paul,
  • Hennepin County,
  • Ramsey County,
  • the Minnesota State Fair,
  • the University of Minnesota Student Neighborhood Liaison Program
